To help minimise the impact, the contractors will strive to ensure that the most noisy and disruptive works are carried out between 8pm and 10:30pm where possible each evening.
They will also aim to maintain access to and from Princess/Trinity Street, Hunter Street and Sens Close, although some delays may be experienced while the works are underway and to ensure safety while equipment is moved out of the way.
Councillor Karen Shore, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member – Environment, Highways & Strategic Transport said: “By scheduling these resurfacing works overnight we will reduce delays for traffic during the day and help keep Chester open for business in the run up to Christmas.
“Please be assured we are working with the contractor to ensure that this final stage can be completed as quickly as possible.”
