A new destination

Stage three of the development of the Chester Northgate site will deliver a new six-screen, 715-seat Picturehouse cinema along with a new home for Chester’s market. Alongside these will be a number of restaurants and cafés facing onto a new public square and also lining an arcade formed by the old library building.

Adjacent to the cultural centre, Storyhouse, the new buildings will run along the south side of Hunter Street between St Martin’s Way to the west and Northgate Street / Town Hall Square to the east.

Serving the development as well as the existing city centre will be a new multi-storey car park, which will be accessed from St Martin’s Way.
